D Double E, the living legend of Grime music teams up with the Godfather of Grime, Wiley for ‘Better Than The Rest’.
... and Wiley actually turned up for the video shoot.
I was asked by Director Saloum N’Jie to run the Cinematography and Edit for the ‘Better Than The Rest’ music video. Which of course I said yes to. Although I knew this could be a tricky task with Wiley being renown for not turning up to videos and even missing D Double E’s ‘How I Like It Remix’ video shoot at the start of the year, also directed by Saloum N’Jie.
Well, after a couple cancellations and rescheduling Wiley turned up for the video, and what an honour it was.

It was a challenging shoot, as we had a very short amount of time to film Wiley, and we had to freestyle the locations.
I called in Simon Aukes Stolland to gimbal operate, being a very skilled gimbal operator and cinematographer himself really helped the shoot run a lot faster and smoother under very challenging time constraints and losing daylight rapidly. Simon acted more as a great Co-cinematographer to this project, rather than solely the camera operator.
It was a great video and an honour to create something for D Double E and Wiley.
The video was received very well and gained 400,000 views in the first 28 days.
